Visit to the Mayor, the President of the region and the Delegate of the Ministry of Population. They were very surprised about our visiting. They said that it was a good idea to come there but not only a letter. They can collaborate to develop the Deaf in SAVA region especially to take care of the Deaf school. Visit to the Disabled.
MISSION DIMBY AND RIVO IN DIEGO or ANTSIRANANA (13th – 16th May 2006)
On November 2005, a new Association of the Deaf (Fikambanana Marenina Sampana Antsiranana) FIMASA is set up with 19 members in Diego. Dimby trained about the Deaf Right and the development of the Deaf in Diego. There was 18 people present. (4Deafs).
NB: They met there 2 Deaf sort ante from AKAMA and FOFAMA.
They were given some documents about Deaf Right. Dimby and Rivo met with the Regional Director of the National Education and the Vice President. They are ready to collect the Deaf number in DIANA region. They will send the result to FMM and Ministry of Education from June 20th, 06.
Visit to the Deaf school 5 km from the capital . Missionary Danish prepared new house for Deaf school. 18 pupils. 4 teachers. Missionary Danish says, FIMASA should communicate Sign Language to Deaf children. But, we didn’t met Missionary Danish because his holiday in Denmark. There a Deaf 16 years old sit near 50 m of Deaf school but he doesn’t go to Deaf school because Parent’s not have money.
