Lederen i det gassiske døveforbundet (ansatt på døveskolen i Antananarivo) har sendt utklippet sammen med denne informasjon, til lederen i NDFs bistandsutvalg, Odd-Inge Schrøder (og alle venner):
Deaf friends!
We have a good new to tell you. I have seen in the TV that the Norwegian ministry of foreign business sent a letter to our new president
Marc Ravalomanana. The consulate of Norway in our country gave it to the president on May 10, 2002 (attached is the photo). He said
that Norwegian is ready to co-operate with Malagasy government. That is to say that Norwegian accept Mr. Marc Ravalomanana as
president.
High Constitutional Court proclaimed Mr. Marc Ravalomanana, this time, lawfully as president of Madagascar Republic on May 3, 2002.
After Dakar agreement signed by Didier Ratsiraka, Marc Ravalomanana and few African presidents with responsible for AUO and UN, he
won in the first round with 51,46% of the votes against 35% for Ratsiraka. People are happy. Unfortunately, Ratsiraka, his followers,
African Union Organisation, and especially French president (Jacques Chirac) do not accept it. They support Ratsiraka because of
precious stun that they may get from him. They invited Marc Ravalomanana again to go to Dakar for Dakar II agreement but he did not
accept the invitation. He said that it is not a game. He stands firmly on the right.
Barricades on the national roads are always there.
The FMSM has sent a letter of congratulation to the new president. We are aiming at our next call for Malagasy Deaf people right, sign
language. We will wait for the best moment for it.
That is all.
Best regards to all of you.
